In
POLAND, you’ll
find richness here and there, but mostly poverty… and outside
Warsaw it’s really very bad.
UNEMPLOYMENT
exceeds 16%.
INTEREST RATES are
above 20%. And no change is in sight. There is a lot of foreign investment money with only
short-term effects on the market.
PRIVATIZATION
is nearly complete and the profits are used up by
consumption. In my
opinion nothing will be
left behind. Brouhaha is riding in the wake of the privatization,
because yesterday the
Sejm
decided that it
would encompass only people who carried Polish citizenship in December
1999. And what
about the rest? What about the former
Polish citizens of Jewish origin?
The trouble will result, because President Kwasniewski heroically will
veto the decision, of course if, as it was the case before, his legs won’t
hurt too much.
There will be lawsuits
that will paralyze the already struggling Polish legal system –
and imagine the gigantic costs to the state.
FUTURE…! …the entire telecommunications - internet
industry was hammered and does not have any capital.
We got
globalized
to such an extent that the dream of
imminent domination is slowly killing grass-root
entrepreneurship. "GREED IS GOOD!" - said Michael Douglas in the flick The Wall Street – but only for the
time being…
